  • "Last spring, Dr. Harsini gave a lecture to Harvard students during the Food Transformation Course, about his path to starting ASAP and about the problem of animal suffering. It was one of the first times I had heard someone in a position of authority & credibility explicitly speak about violence against animals and its implication for humanity's ability to progress. He asked what has become one of the most influential questions in my studies: what does it mean for us as a species to look at the way we treat animals and allow that cruelty to continue? I think students are disturbed by animal suffering, experience much dissonance about it, and are looking for opportunities to process that deep discomfort. ASAP is meeting this need, and is tapping into immense potential for positive change for animals (human and non-human alike). ASAP provides a unified infrastructure for sustainable and effective animal advocacy on college campuses, including ongoing logistical support, funding, educational programming, and career mentorship.

Our work has three pillars:

  1. Outreach. We ensure a strong and conspicuous outreach presence on campuses, to continuously find veg-curious/vegan students, or to make new vegans.

  2. Community, Education, and Empowerment. We build a supportive community for vegans and provide educational seminars.

  3. Accessibility. We support campaigns to transition dining halls towards plant-based eating to make veganism more accessible.
